Jocelyn, I can imagine missing the snow, now that I live with it. And in a way, I think it's like enjoying other people's babies when yours are late teenagers... and feeling glad that you get to hand them back to the parents. Enjoy the beauty vicariously, happy you don't have to shovel. Or something like that. My metaphor probably breaks down. :) The syllabus is for a course on sociology of the life course - which is a little strange, because I'm not a sociologist. But the program melds sociology and social psychology, which is my area, so it's an interesting way to stretch my own understanding of things.

It's just an awful awful time to be working in publishing, now that books aren't selling and everyone wants their material online and free. The press itself is great, it's just the historical moment in publishing that's not so great.

And Kty, have a wonderful vacation in Austria! I hope you post photos!

Those pictures are absolutely gorgeous! I wish we were just a bit closer to snow (that's how snow goes in California -- it's tied to elevation), I miss it sometimes. What are you writing your syllabus for? And I love that you're connected to the press that produces my all-time favorite book, lucky you :) (Also, that Ty-Dy? Great color -- the socks I knitted out of that turned out beautifully.)
