Finally, I finished the Hedera socks I’ve been knitting all month, just in time for the daughter to arrive home for spring break:

a pair of socks for a cold dorm room floor
The snow has been really amazing here in Manhattan – yesterday we got just shy of 21″ of snow in Central Park! We’re knocking on the top 10 list of biggest snowfalls since 1869 or something like that. Here are some newer shots from my neighborhood…..

stop reflecting on the snow
Now, off to make pillows and watch people play in the snow outside my window. The city has proclaimed that this is snow day, and they’ve set up places to play and sled, and they’re serving hot chocolate. One reason I love this town, they do things like this.

I love the bold striping on the socks! They look great for dorm life, they must be greatly appreciated
Beautiful pictures of NYC! It’s so cool that the city is promoting sledding and hot chocolate! Here all they did for the snowstorm was cancel the bus service!
Gorgeous socks, great snow pics
Thanks to both of you! And I have to agree, Kate – it really is a cool thing the city did for local kids. I keep seeing them run past my window with sleds under their arms. Much better than eliminating public transportation.
