I’m still in the midst of the same WIPs I’ve been working on for a while – the wedding shawl, the baktus, and a few others sitting and waiting for me to finish those two: the mondo cardigan, the afghan, the lettuce lace ishbel. And I’m still dying to cast on those pink felici socks for Marnie. My fingers literally twitch. NO….put down the felici, Lori. Back away from the felici.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous day, and if my baby toe weren’t still broken, I’d just be out in the glory of it. I can take short walks, and have been out several times. This is my neighborhood.

My florist, a lovely French bistro with sidewalk seating, Columbia University just over there, new graduates walking around in their robes (today looked like doctoral graduation), people wandering around licking ice cream cones, small clots of laughing groups of people, kids shooting past on skateboards, ice cream trucks jingling in the neighborhood somewhere, the knife sharpening truck making the rounds with his own jingle. My Manhattan.
