Well, I'm a long tall Texan. I wear a 10-gallon hat (she comes from Texas wearin a 10-gallon hat...). Also: I knit and I really like words. And food. And my people. And New York. And you, probably. :)

Pffft! That’s hilarious.
Oh cat owners.

it IS hilarious, isn’t it! I adore the cat’s expression.
Okay – I couldn’t NOT comment…
My son’s much neglected blog (he *is* just 13!) –

Yes, I admit it, we are cat owners. There are days, however!
Caleb, by the way, is our now 30 pound Maine Coon Cat. His brother Jake is a mere 20 pounds – the runt.

OH MY. Caleb is a very fat cat.
Wowie. One of my daughters has a couple of cats, and one is enormous, frequently pinning her down on her bed in the night so she can’t even turn over. They have such personalities!
But Caleb, that cat takes my breath away. And he rocks the little Mexican hat, too.
Oh yes. I’ve had more than one occasion when I’ve awakened to Caleb on my chest sound asleep – and me STUCK. Particularly when I was so sick earlier this year and wasn’t able to even sit up just in and of myself – much less with a 30 pound cat on me!
I will say though that he is a gentle giant. He just wants love. He really doesn’t understand that everyone doesn’t want to just stop their world and sit down and pet him – for hours. He’s a total sweetheart.

Okay – I have to admit that I have had cats who would model hats, but I don’t think any of them would put up with that chin strap! Of course, from the look on his face, I don’t think this kitty’s going to put up with it for much longer, either…

what a great sentence – “i have had cats who would model hats.” it made me laugh out loud. cats can be much more long-suffering than people think, if they’ve never been around cats. we had one cat who somehow got the name Old Bad Kitty (even though she was anything but old or bad) who was incredibly patient with my first child, Katie. Katie wasn’t old enough to really understand the difference between real cats and stuffed doll cats and was rough with Old Bad Kitty, who was always just so patient with her.
cats with chin straps. it’s just wrong, isn’t it.
