Three views of Mother’s Day:

in Istanbul at Figaro's, holding two red carnations given to me by strangers in front of a van with something blaring over a loudspeaker
My kids and I agreed to postpone Mother’s Day a week, since we couldn’t talk yesterday due to my all-day absence and flight. Still, Katie sent this jib-jab card. You don’t have to have spent much time around this blog to know just how much this screams “me:”
I wonder if next year I’ll be wishing my daughter Katie a happy mother’s day?! We’ll see…..

I chose that photo for the Jib Jab card because you were sporting a pretty bitching afro…seemed to fit!
I sure hope I get to take part in Mother’s Day next year! Perhaps its time we all start pestering Trey just a little bit more….
I recognized the face as the one underneath the bitchin’ ‘fro….those glasses gave it away. They could go, but I still love that old afro.
If you think pestering would help…..
Welcome home, and happy Mother’s day!! It sounds like it was truly a wonderful trip – Turkey’s in my Top Three (I’m trying to narrow it down to what we might manage as a family before Tess goes off to college), but it’s Peru for us this summer.
On her own blog, Jocelyn just wrote a post titled..A day late
And a happy [belated] Mother’s Day to you too, Jocelyn! It looked like yours was just wonderful. I look forward to hearing about your experience of Peru, especially if you go to some of the places we went! (Lima/Miraflores, Arequipa, Colca Canyon, Puno/Juliaca/Lake Titicaca, and Cusco/Machu Picchu) I later learned that itinerary is known as “The Gringo Trail.”
