i know i’ve said this before, but this time I REALLY MEAN IT.
it’s about time! i’m pleased to introduce you to……
i’m tantalized, are you tantalized? we’re so tantalized! what a weird word.
dunh dunh dunh! the return of knitting content!
wanna see what I got in Laos and Cambodia? Do ya? Huh? No? Then can I interest you in a WIP?
lots to get done, getting lots done. pumpkin pie and cranberry bars, tandoori chicken and packing for laos, and lotsa deciding. i’m the decider.
but i don’t WANT to clean the bathroom! just another row, just to finish this cable, just this section. aw, mom. you’re no fun at all.
i always hate it when people say this to me, but maybe they’re right: worse things DO happen at sea.
she really pisses me off. sure, she’s “interesting” and “fascinating” and beautiful, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD she’s a pain in my ass.
i have been my own worst enemy on this project, and we nearly came to blows. read what a little perseverence’ll do for ya.
it really sucks to frog, but there’s a delicious feeling of self-righteousness when you do.
really? REALLY ME??? i’m THIS goofy and weird because there’s a low pressure system hanging over the east coast? REALLY?????
will i have enough? that’s all too often my question. why oh why don’t i just go ahead and spring for the extra ball. (that’s what SHE said.)
help me rhonda, help help me rhonda….i don’t know what to do with my sweater.
i’m in love with a beautiful thing called Eve…you would be too, but this one’s MINE.
love has no pride. but i do.
this one was nearly heartbreaking.
sweater #2 finished!!! Fait accompli!!!
I’m finishing the Mondo Cable Cardigan. When I left it, the body was finished and I was 3/4 finished with one sleeve. Since yesterday, I finished that sleeve and started and finished the other. (I know!!) The collar will take me a bit of time, but it’s only 128 rows of 26 stitches, so I should finish it today, easily. Then I’ll soak and block it and run out for buttons and giant snaps.

Well, I did it. I unbound-off the too-long Peasy sleeve, frogged enough rows, and knitted/bound off once again. The sleeve is now the perfect length – it matches the other one, and it matches my arm length. I like that in a sweater.
What an accidentally perfect choice I made for my first sweater; the yarn – Rowan Felted Tweed – is very sticky so it hides errors and looks fantastic when it’s blocked, and since it’s so sticky, it’s easy to frog with abandon, without worrying that it’ll all come undone.

OH Y’ALL. I am so so so so SO SO SO SO SO SO excited – I just bought 5 skeins of tosh merino DK in byzantine, to make the Eve’s Ribs shrug. I’m pacing around with ants in the pants, waiting for the yarn to arrive. Since I bought it 5 seconds ago, I’d better find some way to wait or I’ll keel over. Pictures:

so many WIPs, so little time. i know, you hear that ALL the time.
here’s why i knit: pleasure. sensory glory, pedestrian pleasures all made by hand. by MY hands.
i don’t know what to do. really. please help me solve my knitting problem. AND DON’T LAUGH.
see it, smell it, taste it, touch it, everything but hearing it!
flowers. knitting. music. books. what else is there?
i can knit without looking! i can knit without looking!
yikes i love this project
